Demisexual Pride

"Demisexual" is asexual. Demisexuals feel sexual attraction after creating a strong emotional link. They rarely feel a physical attraction to others. Demisexuality requires an emotional or intellectual bond before sexual attraction. Demisexuality is not asexuality. Emotional intimacy rather than physical attractiveness or early appeal triggers sexual desire in demisexuals. People used "demisexual" to describe their unusual attraction experiences. It acknowledges that emotional connections and sexual attraction are intertwined for people. Demisexuality is a legitimate sexual orientation, and demisexuals seek recognition from their communities and society. 

Although some asexuals may feel sexual attraction, others may not feel anything at all. Even some asexuals have intercourse with others. The topic of sexuality might be awkward for some people. Even asexuals can enjoy romantic touches like a kiss or a hug. 

Similar but not identical, demisexuality and gray sexuality share some characteristics. Graysexuals report less frequent experiences of sexual attraction and reduced willingness to engage in sexual engagement. People who identify as graysexual are different from demisexuals in that they do not require an emotional connection to experience sexual desire.
